There was an abundance of fun and chatter to be had at the annual 2017 Gourmet Food & Wine Expo at The Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Rows and rows of vendors lined from wall to wall made the choice of where to spend one’s tickets difficult, but in a good way.

This was my third time attending the show and I must say, it seems to me to be growing larger every year. The show definitely goes above and beyond wine lover demands by offering tastings of spirits galore and craft beers of all types. There were fabulous mixed drinks from the “drink in a bag” that everyone was totting by Siempre Tequila to the Titos Handmade Vodka mixed beverage presented in a branded glass mason jar for guests to take home.

There was even an Alcohol Mist station, sure to peak anyone’s interest while shuffling by.

There’s something for everyone at the show and with the purchase of tickets at $1 a pop (offered in packs of 20), you can choose to spend them however you like. Most drinks are $1-$3 and some specialty concoctions go as high as $8 or more.

Let’s not forget the mouth watering food! I suggest going hungry as there’s plenty to satisfy anyone’s palate, and let’s be honest, food and wine were just meant to be enjoyed together. I indulged in more than my share of delicious oysters, pot pies, pasta, pierogies and chicken wraps. Mmmm mmmmm! If I had had any square inch of space in my gut for any more, I’d have checked out the pressed sushi and samosas as those too were calling my name.

So whether you’re a white wine drinker or a scotch connoisseur, this is the place for you. Come with your friends and family and make a social night out.
